The Poverty Agenda in the United States

My name is Clifton Bryant, though my work is published under the pen name ANAV. I would like to address a significant issue in the United States: poverty. My book, titled “The Invisible America: Why is One of the Richest Countries in the World Hiding its Most Embarrassing Failure of All Time—The War to End Poverty?”, examines this subject in depth.
The pen name ANAV, which translates from Hebrew as “I Am The Poor,” reflects the central theme of the book—the ongoing struggle faced by individuals experiencing poverty in the United States.
Poverty in America: The Facts
According to the 2024 Census Bureau, 37.9 million Americans live below the poverty line. Despite helping other countries, the U.S. continues to struggle with poverty at home.
Call for Action
No matter your beliefs, the words of Jesus in Luke 4:23 are relevant: “And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.” This country is the United States! The message is clear—it is time for American politicians to heal our nation from the disease of poverty.
The War on Poverty
President Lyndon B. Johnson declared war on poverty in 1964, but effective solutions remain limited.
This inspired me to write “The Invisible America: Why is one of the world's richest countries hiding its greatest failure—the war on poverty?”
Empowering Change
“The Invisible America” calls on those affected by poverty and their allies to act, starting with voting. It urges holding politicians accountable for blocking anti-poverty legislation, removing uncommitted leaders, and electing those dedicated to real change.
The book, The Invisible America by ANAV is available on Amazon.com, and I created a Facebook page with detailed information about poverty in the United States. Please click on the link below:
Conclusion
Please consider buying my book, sharing it with friends, and contacting your elected officials to ask what actions they are taking to end poverty—without accepting partisan blame. Thank you.
